Screaming Voices

Inadequate elements of total surprise
Retribution inhibits exhibits that strive
For breathing voices behind my eyes.
Look away if you can.
I’ve caught them in a lie.
I’ve fought this battle a thousand times
And there’s always a war left when they all seem to die.
Look away if you can. In fact. . .
Better you just run and hide
From screaming voices behind my eyes.
