The Light

From here there came
A light.
From the sky and from
The pit.
To illuminate
The other side of
The walls and doors.
Their falsity worth
Spewing laughter over
Evening tea.
From here I see
The truth.
And it’s enough to send
Even this long and weary soul
To ecstatic heights.
