Coffee shop

The woman of my
Dreams says
Espresso is too dark
While her raspberries
Are too seedy
For any rhythm
To embark.
A gigantic
Three-ringed beast
Stands before us
Earth to sky.
The wind
Makes the trees
Shake their heads
In wonderment
Of why.
Just a day at the
Coffee shop.
Falling in love,
You and I.

Useless

I’m devolving
Into madness.
Eternities
Forfeit.
You showed me
The exit
Yet I couldn’t
Find it.
You showed me
The door
That I’ve been to
Before.
It’s too far
A trek
Through an
Unholy
Wreck.
You showed me
My freedom
Which I’ve longed
For so
Long.
I’m unglued
From
Redemption,
Disconnected
From
Strong.
I’ll never
Be your
Hero
If I can’t
Even
Belong.

Insanity

My world is strange
Day in and day out,
Things can’t stay the same
Gyrating with doubt.
As it is, so shall
It be.

I’m crazy as all hell
Free from sanity.
And it’s just as well
I’m as gone as can be.
Unholy ghosts,
Are waiting outside measures
Of infinity.

Nothing is solid
Nothing is free
My world is devolving
I’m fucked as can be.
I’m lying in wait
For the lies
To find and ultimately,
Take me.

One and One

You’re the only one
Who can open doors wide
While I’m still closing windows
To keep us inside.
You’re the only one
Who I see by my side,
One and one
More together
Than birds taking flight.
You are mine
I am yours
And I’ll never forget
That you’re there round the bend.
You,
My heart and my friend.

A Strange Haiku Sort of Thing

Decades of the same,
This deterioration.
Yet I’m still alive.

None to place the blame,
No real retaliation.
Nothing can survive.

Yet I sit here still,
I know that pain isn’t real.
That for which I pine
Really only in my mind.

Karma’s Dance

No rest for the weary.
This dance has gone on
For far too long.
We move hither and sway
To an unknown song.

No shame for the wicked.
These sins have remained
And the outcome’s the same.
We are all along lonely
Only close to our mistakes.

No light for the grieving
No love for the damned.
Hidden karma keeps heaving
And joy is etched in sand.

Yet Another Poem for My Cat

You’re more tame
Than wild.

Hunting sunshine shadows
At the peak of the day.
Stalking silent beasts
Amidst the trees.

You wallow in the grass
As you’re the only life’s heir.
When you’re home it seems
You’ve been lonely out there.

Cold, tired and hungry
As you’re in for the night.

More outrageous
Than mild.
Still more tame
Than wild.

Trust in You

My trust in you
Is enough
To make the whole world
Whole
And bring solace
To those
Who are lost
In the cold.

Where the old
Die in their beds
Safe and warm
With an angel
Beside them
To quiet
Their storm.

My trust in you
Is enough
To make me feel
This way
And enough
To believe
That you’ll actually
Stay.

Ash Cloud

I miss you
Like the sun
When the ash cloud
Roars in
As if any
Trace of light
Would have ceased
to have been
There all along.
Is it better that way?
Without the sun
This tree
Would have never
Faced the day.

Time All Along

Time has taken by force
All the willing to comply,
And unmasked the actor
Who was willing and ready
To take by force
All the forces
Beyond his touch.
The wind and the sky
And the deep blue waters
Were only chased
On silver heels
Without petition
To the clutches of time.
