Not today

I don’t want to write today.
I would rather not dictate
The sun at high noon
Obscured by clouds
Rolling over the trees.
I would rather not see
Fallen branches and vines.
Dead leaves and dead grass
Shaken by an icy breeze.
I would rather not say
What a collusion we made
And all the loneliness inherent
In this perpetual sway.
I don’t want to write today.

  1. I really love the last four lines, for someone who finds resistance you manage to put forth. Sharpen that pen and write
