The Original War Paint

When love has been and gone
And all reasons are undone
I will underline
Fluorescent light
With shattered emptiness she made.
Just as she sharpened
And honed the blade.
Just as my sickness
Has driven her away.
Burning candles for those
That left me behind.
Does my ghost see the dripping
Perpendicular lines?

  1. My love. I wish I had been there.
